Becoming With Purpose Journal
A guided workbook may help if you say yes before checking your capacity, rehearse a no for hours, overexplain simple decisions, or undo limits as soon as someone is disappointed.
Knowing the word boundary is not the same as feeling safe enough to use one.
Look for the pattern, not a label
You do not need to identify as a people-pleaser for these pages to be useful. The relevant question is whether guilt, fear, or habit regularly removes your needs from decisions. The workbook offers prompts and exercises that make the pattern easier to see and interrupt.
Know what a workbook cannot do
Self-guided reflection is not a replacement for therapy, crisis support, legal advice, or a safety plan in an abusive situation. It can, however, help you organize thoughts, practice language, and arrive at supportive conversations with clearer information.
A small practice for today
Notice which description brings the strongest reaction: automatic yes, overexplaining, guilt after no, or difficulty naming what you need. Start there.
Pause and reflect
- Which boundary pattern costs me the most energy?
- What kind of guidance helps me take action?
- Do I need self-guided practice, professional support, or both?
